Mind Management For You

"See Your True Potential"

This months’ blog post is about being honest. In April I performed a new mental health show at the Lichfield Garrick. As part of the show I sang songs that I have never performed to an audience because they are so personal to me and were written when I was deep in depression. I hoped that by being honest about my feelings at that time, would help others and it did as so many people could relate to how I felt at that time and recognised they were not alone.

Folks we all have down days. We all get depressed at some point and its’ ok to be honest when you are having a low day. There is a good chance that the person you are talking too is having a down day too.
The more honest you are, the more you accept it and allow it to pass.

My next Mind Management workshop will be on Saturday the 30th April in Shenstone. The workshop is for those of you who want to build your awareness and identity, challenge negative beliefs and self-sabotaging behaviours that might be holding you back and make positive changes.

If you missed my first Mental Health Show at the Garrick in March last year then you have a chance to see it again as I will be performing the same show at the Stafford Gatehouse Theatre on Thursday 23rd June.

Bring on 2016!!!

For this month’s newsletter I want to start by sharing one of my favourite quotes

‘Today is the first day of the rest of your life’

The New Year can motivate people to make resolutions and to take action.

Whether you have made resolutions or not I encourage you to consciously decide how you want your life to be.

Every year I make new year resolutions and I stick to them. The satisfaction I feel when I have achieved them is fantastic. I make my goals realistic and achievable. I especially make sure it is something I want to do rather than something I feel I should be doing.

I encourage you not to should all over yourself, to do the things you want and enjoy making it happen!

My next Mind Management workshop will be on Saturday 20th Feb for those of you who are ready to make positive changes to your life. The workshop will ensure that your belief system is in line with what you want.

I’m delighted to say My Midlands Mental Health Theatre Show will start at the Palace Theatre in Redditch on Sat 6th Feb

Please email or call me if you would like any more information on either of these events

Last month I wrote about trusting your gut instinct. When you know you are doing the right thing then the determination naturally follows.

For me I am determined to have a Mental Health show on TV. I still don’t know how I am going to achieve it but I am determined that I will. What drives me is I believe where there is a will there is way. I’ve also heard other people say where there is a will there is a relative!! Couldn’t resist that one!

Some days I don’t feel determined and that’s ok. I just go with it and know that the bad days pass.

I encourage you to engage in your determination and enjoying seeing what you are capable of!

This month’s newsletter is about ‘Trusting your gut instinct’.

I’ve done many jobs in my life. I’ve been a waitress, a drama and dance teacher, a newspaper sales representative, a leisure facilities entertainer and a support worker. All these jobs suited me at that time.

Now I work as a counsellor and as an entertainer. When I decided to ‘come out’ this year and speak openly about my depression in my shows, I had no idea I would end up being a mental health campaigner and making a big difference to so many people.

All I knew is that it felt right for me to talk about something I have lived with all my life. The result – amazing! I honestly believe that when you are being true to yourself and following your gut instinct – magic happens!

I encourage you to trust your gut instinct and do what feels right for you.

I would like to say a big thank you to all of you who were able to attend my mental health shows this year. I can tell you the next one will be at The Palace Theatre in Redditch on Sat 6th Feb and after that a new show will be performed at The Lichfield Garrick on Fri 8th April 2016

In the meantime I will be hosting Mind Management workshops, seeing clients for one to one sessions and continuing to give talks to break down the stigma of mental health.
